GB Bearings has been in operation in South Africa since 1962, having a network of facilities situated in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
GB Bearings was previously known as Federal-Mogul Large Bearings and prior to that as Glacier Bearings. The Company has always been in the forefront of technological advancement in the design and manufacture of plain bearings and bearings materials for a wide variety of industrial applications. Our facilities are equipped to manufacture and repair whitemetal bearings ranging in size up to bore diameters of 5500mm.
GB Bearings has BEE status with many companies and has formal BEE accreditation with Eskom, Spoornet and the SAMPPF (South African Mining Preferential Procurement Forum). All our facilities conform to exacting standards with our Durban and Johannesburg operations approved and listed to SABS ISO 9001:2008. All sites maintain a Risk Management system that incorporates Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
GB Bearings remains as a licensee to Waukesha Bearings and will continue to represent Federal-Mogul Glyco Glycodur and Deva Metal bearing products,as well as Tenmat composite bearing materials, including the well established Feroform product range. These partnerships enable GB Bearings to provide its customers with a more complete service through the technical support and product range of these Companies.
